  I went into the store looking for a surprise gift for my girlfriend with a photo of a watch that she liked. Cathy, the owner, was out and talking to me about what I liked and what my girlfriend liked. She also was knowledgeable about current styles and what is in style for females. The photo that I showed was a rose gold watch and Cathy looked at it and said "I have just the thing" she pulled out a rose gold Seiko watch and said you should pair it with this rose gold plated rose. She told me that it was a real rose that they dipped in 24k pink gold. It looked awesome. When I brought the gifts to my girlfriend she was super surprised and wears the watch all the time now. Thanks Cathy!

  Richard was so helpful and nice! They always take the time to be sure their customers receive exactly what they want. I had my grandmother’s ring resized and they were able to keep the engravings inside it. The pricing was reasonable and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Thanks Kathy and Richard!

  I had a negative customer service experience at Calhoun. I was immediately and impolitely turned away from Calhoun Jewelers after requesting an appraisal; the one person who was capable of performing appraisals was busy for another six weeks. In a small town and in a small store like this, I understand if there's one person on staff who performs appraisals. What made my experience negative is that any of the three idle employees could have offered to look at what I wanted appraised and provided an informal appraisal, or offered any remedial step in the appraisal process until their one person was no longer busy, or thought of anything else that would have addressed the reason for my visit. Instead, I was promptly turned away, the staff too busy talking to each other with no one else in the showroom. I left Calhoun feeling snap judged and frustrated that I was quickly determined not worthy of Calhoun's business. There are too many other friendly jewelers in the area to accept Calhoun's employee's behavior. I will never be back.
